SpLD Assessments was founded by Huw, who understands firsthand the challenges of living with a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD). Diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of eight, Huw knows how these difficulties can impact daily life, self-confidence, and academic progress.

Determined not to let his SpLD hold him back, Huw achieved a degree in Biology, taught Science at some of the UK’s leading schools, and completed a Master of Arts at University College London (UCL). He is now a fully qualified Level 7 Assessor of Dyslexia. However, he didn’t achieve this alone; Huw received the right support and intervention, which empowered him to think big and reach his goals.

Huw founded SpLD Assessments with a clear mission: to help others access the support they need so that learning difficulties never stand in their way. By identifying individual challenges and providing tailored guidance, we are dedicated to empowering students with SpLDs to unlock their potential, achieve their goals, and thrive in education and beyond.
